Labourer / Groundsman required to work around the Southend-On-Sea area.

Hours: Approx. 7:00am – 4:00pm (with break)
Contract Type: CIS (Self-Employed) – offering £17.50ph based on a 8 hour working day + a lunch break.

My client is looking for a reliable, hard‑working Labourer / Groundsman to join their construction team. You will be involved in all aspects of groundworks, labouring and domestic projects including extensions and house renovations from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with all aspects of groundworks (digging, drainage, foundations, concreting, backfilling, etc.)
  • General labouring duties: loading/unloading materials, moving tools and equipment, keeping site clean and tidy
  • Support trades on site (bricklayers, joiners, plumbers, electricians, etc.)
  • Assist with house renovations and extensions from strip-out through to completion
  • Follow instructions from site supervisor and work as part of a small team
  • Adhere to all health & safety rules and use PPE correctly

Requirements

  • Previous labouring experience (essential)
  • Good work ethic, punctual, and physically fit – must be a grafter. Good attitude, willing to learn and be trained up in groundworks and all stages of building work
  • Reliable and able to work outdoors in all weathers
  • Full UK driving licence and own transport (essential)
  • Valid CSCS Card (essential)
  • Registered under the CIS Scheme (essential)
  • CPCS desirable
